Kung Fu: The Legend Continues was a spin off to the 1972-1975 television series, Kung Fu. This series debuted in syndication for four seasons, from January 27, 1993 to January 1, 1997, and the show was broadcast in over 70 countries. The series was filmed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Since 1997, due to the show's popularity, reruns of the show were previously seen on TNT, and are still shown in Canada on CIIT-TV OMNI.11.

Like his grandfather and namesake from the original TV series, Kwai Chang Caine is a Shaolin priest. Caine was the head of a temple in Northern California, where his son Peter also lived and studied, until the Temple was destroyed in a fire caused by a renegade priest attempting a take over of the Shaolin. Han believed the priests would serve better as mercenaries. After the destruction of the temple, each believed the other had perished, and went on their separate ways; Caine wandered and traveled, much as his grandfather had, while Peter became a foster child, and then a police officer. The series begins when Caine comes to the city's Chinatown section, where Peter's precinct is, and they are reunited after being separated for 15 years.

Kung Fu: the Legend Continues DVD complete series collection with all episodes and seasons on DVDs â€" and so it did

A sequel of TV series Kung Fu (1972 â€" 1975), entitled Kung Fu: The Legend Continues stars David Carradine as the father â€" a Shoalin Monk, with kung fu trained son (Chris Potter) â€" a Police detective. [1][2] It was telecasted in more than 70 countries and constituted of 4 seasons (January 27, 1993 â€" January 1, 1997).

The filming of this series was done in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. [3] Reruns of the show were spotted on TNT (1997), since it was a hit. However, when PTEN, the producer of this series, discontinued functioning, the series was cancelled, also because no other network took it on.

Carradine’s character, Kwai Chang Caine, is a Shaolin priest, just like his grandfather was in the original series. His son lived and studied in the temple in North California, which was headed by Carradine, until it was caught up in a fire and destroyed by a rebel of a priest, believing that private army would be more suitable for priests.

When the temple was destroyed, both the father and son considered the other dead, and so moved on to their own ways where the father vagabonded like his grandfather, and Peter went to a foster family to end up becoming a police officer. The series begins with the reunion of Peter and Caine (after 15 years), when Caine arrives at the city’s Chinatown, which was Peter’s patrolling area.

The lead role of the series is that of Caine, who headed the temple as a Shaolin priest, 15 years ago; the temple was situated in the north of California.

The lead character in Kung Fu is the grandfather of Caine. [4] Caine is a genius, wise, gives honor and respect, and is skilled at Kung Fu. With the advance in the series, Caine is shown to have phenomenal skills, which were both impressive yet looked impossible; reason being his deep-rooted training in various arts.

Some of those feats were breaching locked doors, waving hand to put out fire, living without oxygen for a certain period of time, reaching impossibly placed areas, usage of psychokinesis and pyrokinesis in various forms, and shielding himself through physical motions. Ensuring great ability, he becomes a Shambhala master as the 3rd season unfolds. He wandered in search for the boy who would eventually take over his Chinese throne, that he reached Peter’s patrolling area and met him.

All through the series, Caine is found citing an intellectual piece of work to another character, which was normally his own son, who hazards them to be of that of a prehistoric Eastern philosopher. After which Caine spills that they were quotes of celebrities, including Frank Zappa and John Lennon. Throughout the series, David Carradine made an appearance.
