Sisters is a television drama which aired on NBC for six seasons, from 1991 to 1996. The show debuted on May 11, 1991 for a seven-episode test run and was subsequently renewed for the 1991 fall schedule.

The show revolved around the Reed sisters, who lived in Winnetka, Illinois. Their recently deceased father, a doctor, had been absent and a workaholic, while their long-suffering mother had turned to alcoholism to cope with his neglect and affairs. Having always wanted sons, their father had called the girls by male versions of their full names: Alexandra was called Alex, Theodora was Teddy, Georgianna was Georgie and Francesca was Frankie.

The show became a hit with viewers. In the first episode we saw Teddy write the word 'Slut' on her sister Frankie's car, and in the last episode we saw the sisters deal with the death of their mother. The audience got to know and love these sisters.

During it's run, Sisters earned one Emmy, which went to Sela Ward in 1994. In total, it received 5 Emmy nominations. Sisters was nominated for two Golden Globes during its six season run: in 1993 (for Best Series-Drama) and in 1994 (for Best Drama Actress-Sela Ward). Kurtz was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award in 1995 and Ward was nominated in 1996.

The most popular TV drama series Sisters which was on aired on NBC, it remains on TV screen for six seasons, starting from 1991 to 1996. The show 1st launched on May 11, 1991 for almost seven episode test run and was re made for the 1991 fall schedule.

The major character of the show was Reed Sister. She lived in Winnetka, Illinois. Their father had recently died of a doctor who had been absent and a workaholic; while their mother who had suffered long had turned to alcoholism to cope with his rejected affairs. Their mother and father have strong desire for son, so their father had called the girls by their male version of their full names, Alexandra was named as Alex, Theodora was named as Teddy, Georgianna was named as Georgie and Francesca was named as Frankie.

In the 1st few seasons every episodes starts with the weekly ritual chatting of the sisters while taking bath on a steam together. In between both the spring 1991 run and the full 1991 and 1992 seasons, the starting credit ran in front of a window above the steam as the camera steadily begins to show the interior of the sauna. In between the credits chatting of women were heard in the background.

Though the starting sauna scenes stayed at the start of every episode for two years more, a more ritual opening sequence was given to the sisters as the 1992-93 seasons started. The new starting consists of glossy, black and white movie scene of the sisters which are busy in different activities, in between both their childhood and adult years.

Another descent aspect of the show was that each episode was characterized by a number of flashbacks, in which the character will interact with their younger selves. Just only the girls hand and arms were shown as the played jumping jacks made sign on check, playing the piano, writing on the computer or some other adulthood case, has their spouse an unzipped dressed in a period of intimacy. The voice of the girls was still heard able to a limit as this version remains for the rest of three years of Sisters.
