'Are You Afraid of the Dark?', a tv show first aired in 1992 by Nickelodeon, a about a group of teenagers who in normal school days go on different schools with their own friends but on weekend they come together sitting around a campfire and share in one interesting thing - Darkness -, their group called 'The Midnight Society'. Each one share tales and stories of paranormal phenomenas such as magic, haunted houses, ghosts, curses, alien, witches and many more. Storyteller toss a birch bark powder to heighten the fire and share creepy stories where title starts with 'Tales of...', with many episodes tells multiple unnatural force, spooky, scary tales and stories.

Are you searching for the one of those fantasy/horror type of TV series you enjoyed back the when you were a kid? One of the greatest suggestions that will surely give you that great experience in watching such series is Are You Afraid of the Dark?

This Canadian-American horror/fantasy type of TV series was a dual production between the American company Nickelodeon and Canadian company Cinar. And the show is mainly filmed in Quebec, Richmond, Montreal and British Columbia.

The pilot episode entitles "The Tale of the Twisted Claw" was aired Oct. 31, 1991 in USA but was aired a year earlier in Canada. In Nickelodeon, Are You afraid of the Dark? was aired from Aug. 15, 1992 up to Apr. 20, 1996.

There was a revived series created by a variety of writers, directors and new casts was then produced in the year 1999 up to 2000 and was also aired on nick. The only member of the original lineup of casts who was able to return on the 6th and 7th seasons was Tucker portrayed by Daniel DeSanto. Ross Hull also returned for the conclusion of the miniseries.

The main focus of Are You Afraid of the Dark is to a group of kids who call themselves “The Midnight Society”. They gather every week and go to their secret place in the woods where the one of the members will have to tell that scary story to the group and the story that the member relates is what basically the episode will be all about.

The story of that particular episode is more often shown in between the arrival and the departure of the group from their secret place. The story teller will have to begin his or her story by saying the words "Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this story..." then the title of the story will be flashing on the screen just after the member toss a handful of midnight dust on the bon fire they created.

The stories are more often concentrated on different paranormal activities which involve certain magical creatures which mostly come in contact with teenagers anywhere they are like for instance in schools, abandoned residences or even in public places.
