The High Chaparral is a Western-themed television series which aired on NBC from 1967 to 1971. The show was created by David Dortort, who had previously created the hit Bonanza for the network. The theme song was also written and conducted by Bonanza scorer David Rose.

High Chaparral was the name given to the ranch owned and operated by the Cannon family in the Arizona Territory during the 1870's. Stubborn, proud Big John Cannon (Leif Erickson) is unceasing in his determination to carve a life in the untamed land. Frequently at odds with Big John is his firebrand of a younger brother Buck (Cameron Mitchell) and John's sensitive son, Billy Blue (Mark Slade). After his first wife's death, Big John marries Victoria (Linda Cristal), daughter of wealthy Mexican Land-owner, Don Sebastian Montoya (Frank Silvera) as a political alliance. Her roguish brother Manolito (Henry Darrow) accompanies her to the Cannon ranch and becomes a permanent member of the household. Sam Butler (Don Collier) is hired as the ranch foreman, while his brother Joe (Bob Hoy) along with Reno (Ted Markland), Pedro (Roberto Contreras), Ira (Jerry Summers), and Vaquero (Rudolfo Acosta) are the hard-working, fun-loving ranch hands.

The High Chaparral is a Western-themed television alternation which was aired on NBC from 1967-1971. David Dortort created the appearance and hit the Bonanza of network. There was an affair song that was conducted by Bonanza scorer David Rose.

The program starred starred Leif Erickson as "Big" John Cannon a agriculturist who lived in the Arizona Territory in the 1870s. he ran agronomical with his brother and son; Buck and Billy respectively. Blue boy’s or Billy’s mother died in the indigenous adventure by an Indian arrow through the window and to ensure his future John Cannon courted and after affiliated Victoria (Linda Cristal) the babe of the able Don Sebasti Montoya.

His grouping to Victoria Montoya brought her brother Manolito (Henry Darrow) into the picture and he as well came to live with the family. Cameron Mitchell was allotted Buck after an airline flight to Tucson area he had sat next to the alternation artist and his wife.

The High Chaparral was Dortort's brainchild and he larboard the circadian active of Bonanza in the bounce of 1967 so he could focus all of his energies on The High Chaparral. In 1971, after the abandonment of the show, Dortort did not acknowledgment to Bonanza but retired instead.

When the process of casting was in progress Nino Cochise asked Dortort for the allotment of Cochise. He was the grandson of the Cochise of the Apache wars. Nino was 92 years old with one missing leg, but won the role. All exoteric and a lot of autogenously video filming was done at Old Tucson Studios.

There were no advices appeared on DVD in the US or all over Europe. But in May 20th 2010 the aboriginal common absolution of division 1 were in Germany.
